Join us for an inspiring session that follows the career of Tamykha Patterson — a freelance lighting programmer and associate lighting designer who has worked on some of the biggest stage productions in the UK and beyond, with prestigious companies including Disney Theatrical, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, The Jamie Lloyd Company and the National Theatre. 

Starting out as an apprentice with no formal theatre background, Tamykha carved her path through hands-on experience, determination, and hard work. Her journey showcases some of the most exciting and creative roles available backstage in theatre and live events, and how technical skills and collaboration bring performances to life. This presentation aims to show that with curiosity, courage, and support, a rewarding career in live entertainment is possible—no matter where you start.
