ILP and Women in lighting

The Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) supports the aim of the Women In Lighting platform to increase the profile of successful women working in lighting design to help encourage, support and inspire the next generation.

The ILP recognises that women currently have a lower professional profile despite making up approximately 50% of the lighting design profession.

To help change this, the ILP pledges that when organising lighting design talks, committees and activities, we will aim to create a 50/50 gender balance when inviting speakers and participants.

The ILP supports initiatives to encourage more women and girls to choose a career in lighting engineering, to help the overall engineering profession achieve an equal gender balance. The ILP commits to providing equal opportunities for everyone within the Institution's activities.
